Kye Ecklin

Kayin "Kye" Ecklin is a Virginia native who started training in ballet & modern at the age of 12.  She was a trainee with Virginia Ballet Theatre who then went to several summer programs like Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, The Rock School, and Alonzo King LINES Ballet.  

Performances

After completing high school alongside Governor’s School for the Arts in 2008, she moved to San Francisco where she trained in Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet Training Program for a year; she performed with the company debuting at Yerba Buena Center for Arts for the fall.  Performed in two Isadora Duncan winning work by Alex Ketley, Kara Davis, Manuelito Biag, and Katie Faulkner and guest performed for Kara Davis’ Project Agora.  Kye then danced with De La Femme SF & Funkanometry SF; after performing with them she entered the world of freestyling where she trained daily, taught around California, and performed with Academy of Villains.  Skilled in popping, b-girling, krump, and choreography, she competed and won 1st place with Academy of Hype at World of Dance Hawaii, appeared with Academy of Villains on America’s Got Talent (Season 7), and performed in many shows in and out of the Bay Area.  Returning home where she continues training at DWDE and guest teaching hip hop classes around Hampton Roads.
